Urban Lumber Tree Service - Lead Tree Climber & Ground Crew Member
Eugene/Springfield's most unique salvaged hardwood furniture company is hiring a Lead Tree Climber & Ground Crew Member for our full Tree Service team. Join our small crew of saw slinging, dust covered, butt kickers as we continue to build one of a kind furniture projects using locally salvaged trees.

Founded in 2006, and located in Springfield, Oregon, Urban Lumber has quickly become a national leader in large, live edge slab furniture. Known for our sustainable practices, our wood comes from salvaged city trees in Lane County. Our projects reach across all aspects of the custom furniture industry including residential, designer and commercial projects.

Lead Tree Climber |
Responsibilities:
-Ability to perform all ground, tree climbing and bucket truck tree trimming and removal duties
-Safely operate chainsaws, chipper, trucks and other power or hand tools.
-Frequent lifting and/or moving up to 25 lbs
-Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs
-Qualifications and Skills
-2 yrs+ Climbing and rigging experience preferred
-2 yrs+ Professional experience in operating Arbor related power and manual equipment
-Ability to following oral and written instructions
-Professionally communicate with customers and team members
-Willingness to train and learn in tree climbing and cutting techniques
-Assumes responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment.
-Requests repair or replacement of equipment when necessary.
-Safety minded
-Valid Driver License. CDL preferred
-Must be drug free

Ground Crew Member |
Responsibilities:
-Follow instructions given by team supervisor
-Assist arborist with tree removals and pruning
-Haul tree trunks, limbs, underbrush, etc. and feed into chipper
-Use chainsaws, pruners, pole saws, blower, skid steer, rakes, etc
-Leave job sites completely free of debris and damage
-Drive and operate equipment
-Assumes responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment. Requests repair or replacement of equipment when necessary.
-Uphold all OSHA and company safety standards
Qualifications:
-2 yrs+ Tree work and arbor equipment experience preferred
-CDL preferred
-Good vision, and hearing
-The ability to climb, stand, walk, kneel, and stoop
-The ability to transport heavy items
-The ability to follow written and verbal instructions
-The willingness to work hard in all weather conditions
-Valid driver license
-Willingness to be trained for CPR/First Aid/ISA Arborist/CDL certifications
-Must be drug free
